This session addresses the challenges of diagnosing sexual addiction, particularly given the absence of DSM-V criteria. Attendees will gain insights into distinguishing between addiction, problematic sexual behavior, erotic conflict, and moral incongruence—crucial distinctions for accurate assessment and effective treatment planning. When sex addiction comes to light, the resulting pain and chaos can feel insurmountable. Healing requires more than addressing individual recovery—it calls for a relational approach. This talk introduces the Couple-Centered Recovery® model, an emerging framework for guiding couples through the aftermath of betrayal. Drawing from attachment theory, developmental neurobiology, and clinical research, this model integrates safety and stabilization, shared grief, and relational renewal to restore trust and connection. Participants will learn the importance of fostering empathy, setting healthy boundaries, and navigating difficult conversations. By focusing on co-regulation, mutual grieving, and shared values, couples can move from despair to resilience, building a relationship that is not only repaired but reimagined with emotional, spiritual, and relational congruence.
